E Ink announced announced an investment it made in Wuxi Vision Peak Technology (previously Wuxi Wei Feng Technology), a service provider in e-paper display R&D.

E Ink (which invested in Wuxi via its subsidiary Transcend Optronics) and Wuxi Vision Peak will form a strategic partnership and join foruces to expand the E Ink market and promote the use of e-paper in applciations such as electronic price tags and electronic shelf labels. Besides the investment, E Ink will provide technical support.

Android Authority posted a nice video from CES where they interview Giovanni Mancini - E Ink's head of global marketing. Giovanni discusses the technology behind E Ink displays, Polyera's Wove Band, Rimowa's electronic luggage tag and shows flexible E Ink samples.

Visionect introduces a new meeting room digital door label called Joan Meeting Room Assistant that uses an E Ink panel to provide scheduling solutions. Joan can connect to several standard calendars wirelessly and runs off its battery for up to three months between charges.

The Joan uses a 6" E Ink Pearl panel (used by many e-readers). More information can be found here.

E Ink is showing several prototype and demonstrators at CES 2016 - including this very nice tiled digital signage displays. It's made from four panels (seems to be 30" or so each):
